Post Halloween Blues

What’s wrong with this picture? Here I am at WORK on HALLOWEEN which is my BIRTHDAY. (Thanks to one of my fans, Maxine, for the pic.)

I love the high holidays, and I’m always a little blue once it’s over. This year I had to work. It was busy, and we stayed open late. We didn’t close until 11:30, and then I had to clean up & change into my costume (a sexy witch outfit–sorry, no pictures). By then it was 12:15 and had begun to rain. Although I didn’t melt (“What a world! What a world!”) I did look like a wet mess by the time I got to my pickup truck. Instead of going out to a club to meet some friends and dance, I just headed home. I was both mad at myself for giving up, and privately relieved to be going home to bed. I did get to see some great costumes, however. Provincetown is a great place for Halloween, and this was a good year too. There was a Great re-enactment of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, with about 20 choreographed zombies dancing down the main street.

And there was a fun haunted house on Winthrop street (FREE!) I took these shots from the outside, but didn’t get any inside cuz I was too scared & running for my life!

But now that Halloween is over and all the revelers have gone home, the town is a little too quiet. Now is when even some of the locals take a couple of weeks off to go somewhere.

To fill my time, and hopefully meet some more interesting people, I’m volunteering at ASGCC (the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod). I think they will have me delivering meals to their clients. There is a real shortage of volunteers here during the winter, and if you can help call Katie Ledoux in the Provincetown office at (508) 487-9445 ext. 16 or e-mail to Katie@asgcc.org. Thanks!

Love ya, hon!
