I had to work at the diner last night, y’all. So I didn’t get to see the Superbowl… got home right as the game was ending. What’d I miss? Anything good?
Actually, there is a TV set at the Diner in the back dining room. Sometimes I can watch my stories back there if business is slow enough. My nephew Chad was there, with a bunch of his friends. Anyway, we took a vote on whether to watch the Superbowl on TV, or The Sound of Music. Between the girls (I mean the other waitresses) and Chad and his friends, Sound of Music acutally won! I think we lost a couple of customers that way… but shoot! It sure was fun to see. I always like rootin’ for the underdog, and it was nice to see Chad and all his gay friends, along with the “football wives” outnumbered the few fans that wanted to see the Superbowl.
To be honest, we did switch it back and forth a little, trying to catch some of the commercials. I found out when I got home that New Orleans won, and I was happy about that.
In case you missed the ads, they’re posted on a lot of blogs today… Joe.My.God, and Ester Goldberg’s Views from A Broad both have them. Some of them were pretty good (The Betty White ad for a certain candy bar) and some were just lame. Companies spent millions of dollars on that, while people are starving, losing their jobs and still sending what little money they have for relief in Haiti? I don’t get it, and frankly, it all leaves me a little disgusted.
A change in subject… Did y’all see my review (last post) of Del Shores’ Sordid Lives: The Series? Well, I posted it on my page on The Facebook, and Del himself saw it and loved it! I’m a little starstruck right now. He even posted something on his own page on The Facebook about me (see pic below)!
Plus, several of the cast members accepted my friends requests. I swear! I feel just like I’m on the red carpet in Hollywood, from the comfort of my own trailerhome! As a tribute to trailer-trash-fabulous, I’ve selected some trailer-park themed designs for this week’s Featured Zazzlers (right hand column of the blog.)
Love ya, hon!
